> The League of Arab States is shuttering its Berlin office to consolidate operations in Vienna as part of a global cost-saving restructure.

The **League of Arab States** is closing its diplomatic mission in **Germany**, along with locations in Argentina and Kenya, as reported by diplo.news on October 18, 2026. The Berlin office will be vacated in a few months to consolidate regional operations abroad.

Official reasons for the closures are centered on cost arguments. Future operations for Germany will be managed from the **Vienna** office, which is being expanded. The Vienna mission, located near UNO-City, holds embassy status and serves as a central hub.

**Austria** has been an observer to the 22-member organization since 2013. Led by Secretary General **Nabil Fahmy**, the Cairo-based League will shutter its Buenos Aires and Nairobi sites by mid-2027 as part of this strategic restructuring of its global presence.
