# Audit Launched Into FPÖ Youth Funding Links

August 25, 2026 at 02:13 PM

> Minister Claudia Bauer orders a federal audit of Freiheitliche Jugend following reports of financial ties to the Identitarian Movement.

Chancellery Minister Claudia Bauer announced an audit of federal youth funding for the Freiheitliche Jugend following a report by '**Der Standard**.' The report alleges secret agreements and financial flows between the **FPÖ** youth and the **Identitarian Movement**.

Chairman Maximilian Weinzierl denied sending money to Identitarians or 'Aktion 451,' noting the RFJ lacks a credit card. Bauer is investigating if an antisemitism clause applies, while 'Der Standard' cites documents on links between RFJ and 'Aktion 451.'

Political leaders are demanding transparency, with calls for Weinzierl's resignation and clarification from Herbert Kickl. Vice Chancellor Andreas Babler warned that cooperation with right-wing extremists poses a danger to Austria's democracy and security.
