# Austria Approves 770 Million Euro Climate Plan

> The Austrian government has launched a 770 million euro Climate Social Plan to cut emissions in transport and buildings through 2032.

The **Austrian Federal Government** approved a **Climate Social Plan** on Wednesday, October 21, 2026, allocating 770 million euros to reduce emissions. Submitted to the **EU Commission**, the plan targets road traffic and building sectors through the year 2032.

Funding includes 577.8 million euros from emissions trading and 192.6 million euros from **Austria**. About 60 percent will fund building renovations for non-profits, while 40 percent supports electric buses, commercial vehicles, and cycling infrastructure.

This initiative prepares Austria for the **EU-ETS2** launch in 2028, which integrates buildings and transport into emissions trading. The plan provides essential financial relief for low-income households, micro-enterprises, and transport users nationwide.
