# Austria Faces Cool Weekend With Snow and Rain

**Geosphere Austria** forecasts an increasingly unstable and cool weekend across the country. On Friday, temperatures will range from 7 to 14 degrees Celsius. By Saturday, October 31, 2026, cloud cover and rain showers will span from Flachgau to **Burgenland**.

Precipitation on Saturday will focus between **Salzburg** and **Vienna** with a snow line from 1000 to 1500 meters. On Sunday, November 1, the snow line drops to 800 meters. Highs will reach 11 degrees Celsius as rain hits Vorarlberg, Vienna, Styria, and Carinthia.

The cooling trend continues through Tuesday, November 3, with the snow line staying as low as 800 meters. This shift follows a 2025 stratospheric warming event and precedes a potential reversal of west winds over the **North Pole** region around November 5.
