**Austria**'s inflation rate climbed to 3.6 percent in **September**, up from 3.2 percent in **August**. **Statistik Austria** confirmed these figures on Friday, validating an earlier flash estimate. The **services sector** continues to be the primary driver of rising prices.

The transport sector saw a significant 10 percent price increase in September, compared to 7.8 percent in August. Fuel prices surged by 34.8 percent year-over-year. Without fuel and heating oil, the national inflation rate would have been only 2.4 percent.

Catering prices rose by 4.4 percent in September, a slight decrease from the 4.7 percent recorded in August. Meanwhile, food prices saw a modest increase of 0.4 percent compared to last year. These shifts highlight ongoing volatility in energy and services.
