# Austria Seeks New Member for ORF Board

> The Austrian government has opened applications for a vacancy on the ORF Board of Trustees following the resignation of Gregor Schütze.

The Austrian federal government has officially advertised a vacancy for one of its six mandates on the **ORF** Board of Trustees. This opening follows the resignation of Gregor Schütze on August 11, who served as deputy chairman and spokesperson for the ÖVP-affiliated members.

Prospective candidates must submit applications to the Media Ministry by September 7. The ORF Act mandates that the government ensure expertise in fields like media law, business administration, and technology, while also maintaining a strict gender balance among its appointees.

The 35-member board oversees the public broadcaster, meeting four times annually. Members receive a 50-euro monthly allowance and 100 euros per meeting. This selection process occurs as the Media Ministry prepares for the ORF Future Forum scheduled for September 2026.
