November 4, 2026 at 10:26 AM

> Austria will transition to an exclusively digital motorway vignette system starting December 1, 2026, ending the use of adhesive stickers.

**Austria** is officially abolishing physical adhesive **motorway** **vignettes** starting December 1, 2026. State-owned operator **Asfinag** will transition exclusively to digital vignettes for all durations, including 1-day, 10-day, 2-month, and annual options for drivers.

The 2027 annual vignette costs 106.80 euros if bought by year-end 2026, rising to 108.90 euros on January 1. While 2026 stickers remain valid through January 2027, only digital versions linked to **license plates** will be accepted starting February 1, 2027.

Digital vignettes are available via the Asfinag app, gas stations, and auto clubs. Note that online purchases for annual and 2-month terms require an 18-day waiting period due to consumer rights, though this delay does not apply to 1-day or 10-day passes.
