Manufacturers must repair items like smartphones, appliances, and e-bikes for a reasonable price after warranties expire. They are required to publish guide prices online, though consumers may still choose independent shops for any necessary maintenance.
A repair shop comparison platform will launch by July 31, 2027. While the law follows EU Ecodesign rules, the Arbeiterkammer is pushing for broader coverage of household tools and increased price transparency for spare parts to further protect consumers.
