**Austria** is implementing a nationwide social assistance reform starting in 2027, impacting over 200,000 recipients. The system, which costs 1.3 billion euros annually, will set a fixed rate of 307.47 euros for the first child across all federal states.

Regional adjustments vary significantly: **Carinthia** will see a 50-euro increase for the first child, while **Vienna** and **Vorarlberg** face cuts. For large families in Vienna with eleven children, monthly benefits will drop from 5,375 euros to a maximum of 3,985.

The new model emphasizes employment efforts to determine final payouts. In **Styria**, a couple with two children can receive 2,214 euros if seeking work, but only 1,697 euros if not. Conversely, single parents in Vienna will see their base support levels rise.
