# Austrian E-Card Service Fee to Rise in 2027

The annual service fee for the **Austrian E-Card** is set to increase to 26.85 euros for the **2027 calendar year**. This follows a rise to 25 euros in 2026 and 13.80 euros in 2025. The fee is due on **November 15** and is adjusted annually based on the revaluation number.

More than two million **pensioners** will see this fee deducted from their payments for the first time in November 2026. For employees, employers typically handle the deduction. Those with multiple insurance-liable jobs may be charged twice but can apply for a refund.

Exemptions apply to individuals receiving a compensatory allowance or those exempt from **prescription fees** for social reasons. Reaching the annual prescription fee limit does not grant an exemption. The fee applies to employees, contractors, and apprentices.
