Bitpanda announced a major executive board restructuring on Tuesday, September 15, 2026. CEO Lukas Enzersdorfer-Konrad will resign in the first quarter of 2027 to join Erste Group. Co-founder and Chief Scientist Christian Trummer will become the new Co-CEO.
The Board of Directors has launched a structured succession process, evaluating both internal and external candidates. Enzersdorfer-Konrad will lead the firm until his 2027 departure, when he will manage a new Asset Management function under CEO Peter Bosek.
Founded in 2014 by Eric Demuth, Christian Trummer, and Paul Klanschek, Bitpanda has expanded from a crypto platform to include stocks and ETFs. Despite setbacks during the 2022-2023 crypto crash, the firm is now positioning its leadership for future growth.
