# Daylight Saving Time Ends This Weekend

> Clocks across Europe will be set back one hour on October 25, 2026, as the region returns to Central European Time for the winter season.

On the night of Saturday, October 24, to Sunday, October 25, 2026, clocks will be set back by one hour. At 3:00 a.m. on October 25, the time will officially revert to 2:00 a.m., marking the end of **daylight saving time** and the return to **Central European Time**.

Smartphones and radio-controlled clocks adjust automatically, but manual updates are needed for older watches and appliances. This shift means the sun will rise earlier in the morning, while darkness will arrive one hour earlier during the evening hours.

While **British Columbia** moves to year-round UTC−7 in 2026, the EU remains deadlocked. Despite a 2018 proposal to abolish the practice, member states have no agreement. The change stays in effect in **Austria**, with the next shift set for March 28, 2027.
