> Foodora shifts its entire fleet to bicycles and e-bikes as new Austrian regulations ban e-mopeds from bike paths starting October 1.

Starting October 1, 2026, new [Austrian](<https://austriareport.com/entity/austria-q40>) road regulations will ban e-mopeds from bike paths. Drivers must now possess a license, insurance, and helmets. In response, [Foodora](<https://austriareport.com/entity/foodora-q24068412>) Managing Director **Dragan Milovanovic** announced a total fleet shift to e-bikes and bikes.

Foodora couriers, who operate as permanent employees or free service providers, were notified of these changes in June 2026. Using e-mopeds after the deadline constitutes a breach of contract and may lead to the immediate termination of employment status.

To support this transition, Foodora is investing millions through 2027 and partnering with **Cycle** for discounted rentals. The company also offers a 50 euro bonus for completing road safety training organized with the [Federal Ministry for Mobility and Innovation](<https://austriareport.com/entity/federal-ministry-of-innovation-mobility-and-infrastructure-q871765>).
