Korneuburg Reorganizes Kindergarten Catering

Korneuburg municipal council partners with Behindertenhilfe Oberrohrbach to supply kindergarten meals while freezing prices for parents.

The municipal council has unanimously approved a reorganization of kindergarten catering as the Landesklinikum can no longer handle meal volumes. Part of the supply will now be prepared by Behindertenhilfe Oberrohrbach to meet the increased demand.

During discussions, the requested that pork be served twice weekly to support regional farmers. However, Mayor Christian Gepp and other officials argued against mandating specific foods. The FPÖ withdrew the motion after a promise of future food discussions.

While meals from the new provider cost 60 cents more per portion, the price for parents will remain at four euros. The municipality of Korneuburg has committed to covering these additional costs to ensure stable pricing for families during the transition.
