The KPÖ Vienna launched a free tenant emergency hotline this Tuesday to assist residents across municipal, cooperative, and private housing. Staffed by experienced housing counselors, the service operates Monday through Friday from 10:00 to 17:00 without appointments.
State spokesperson Mario Memoli reports that housing costs have surged by 35% in municipal buildings and 45% in private rentals over the last decade. While the hotline provides vital advice, the KPÖ clarifies that the service does not replace legal representation.
This initiative follows a long-standing model established in during the 1990s by Ernest Kaltenegger. As the KPÖ targets the 2030 Vienna City Council election, members are currently engaging residents through outreach at Handelskai and Rosa-Jochmann-Ring.
