ÖBB Launches 2027 Timetable and New Train Routes

ÖBB CEO Andreas Matthä announces expanded domestic and international rail services alongside a 6.1 billion Euro investment in new trains.

ÖBB CEO Andreas Matthä has announced the start of ticket sales for the 2027 timetable, effective December 13, 2026. Major updates include new Interregio lines via the Koralmbahn, increased Graz-Linz IC services, and a 04:48 AM Graz-Klagenfurt connection.

International travel expands with Frecciarossa trains to Milan and Rome, new Belgrade routes, and direct Vienna-Košice connections. Following the Passau-Nuremberg renovation, ten daily ICEs will serve Vienna, alongside a new night ICE service to Stuttgart.

To support these upgrades, ÖBB is investing 6.1 billion Euro in 330 new trains by 2030, adding 57 vehicles in 2027 alone. Despite growth, travelers face full closures on the Tauern route and the German Eck between February and July 2027 for infrastructure.
