# SPÖ Leads Vienna Polls as FPÖ Gains Ground

A new political survey conducted by the **IFDD Institute** for W24 shows the [SPÖ](<https://austriareport.com/entity/social-democratic-party-of-austria-q179111>) leading in Vienna with 35 percent support. The [FPÖ](<https://austriareport.com/entity/freedom-party-of-austria-q131692>) follows at 26 percent, marking a six-point rise over eighteen months. The Green Party holds 19 percent, while the Neos poll at 7.

The survey of 1,000 respondents has a margin of error of 3.1 percent. The SPÖ previously secured 39.4 percent in the 2025 election, while the Neos dropped from 10 percent. The Green Party has gained 4.5 percentage points compared to their last election result.

In a direct mayoral vote, [Michael Ludwig](<https://austriareport.com/entity/michael-ludwig-q1560091>) leads with 44 percent, followed by [Dominik Nepp](<https://austriareport.com/entity/dominik-nepp-q1237851>) at 26 and Pühringer at 17. The current SPÖ-Neos coalition holds a combined 42 percent. Meanwhile, the ÖVP sits at 7 percent and the KPÖ reaches 5 percent in the polls.
