# Tyrol Woman Denied Benefits Over Car Ownership

> A Slovakian citizen in Tyrol lost her claim for minimum income benefits after purchasing a car valued above the legal asset allowance.

A Slovakian citizen living in **Tyrol** was denied minimum income benefits for herself and her daughter after purchasing a **Skoda Scala** for 13,720 euros. Despite earning 1,142 euros monthly and paying 850 euros in rent, the **District Authority** rejected her claim.

The **Regional Administrative Court** upheld the decision, classifying the car as a realizable asset. The vehicle's value exceeds the 6,149.45 euro allowance. Although her parents funded the car via a loan she need not repay, she is the legal owner of the vehicle.

The court ruled the car unnecessary for work as her job is one kilometer away and reachable on foot. With a supermarket nearby and a bus stop 200 meters from her home, the **Tyrolean Minimum Income Act**'s exceptions for essential transportation did not apply.
