# Vienna Names New Streets After Famous Figures

[Vienna](<https://austriareport.com/entity/vienna-q1741>) City Councilor for Culture **Veronika Kaup-Hasler** has announced new names for several streets, squares, and parks across the city. Notable additions include a square in the 22nd district named after Otto Schenk and [Jane Goodall](<https://austriareport.com/entity/jane-goodall-q184746>) Street in Seestadt Aspern.

The Eibengasse quarter features new names for Elisabeth Orth, Peter Simonischek, Waltraut Haas, and Peter Rapp. Other honors include a promenade for [Tina Turner](<https://austriareport.com/entity/tina-turner-q131814>), a park for Gloria-Theater founder Gerald Pichowetz, and the Regenbogensteg bridge in Margareten.

Significant historical figures are also recognized, including Nazi resistance fighters [Käthe Sasso](<https://austriareport.com/entity/kathe-sasso-q19288582>), Anna Peczenik, and Emilie Tolnay. The city further honored painter Soshana, writer Lore Segal, and singer Amalia Carneri, who was murdered in the Treblinka camp.
