Vienna Sausage Stands Go Halal for Limited Run

Mike Lanner transforms two Vienna sausage stands into halal-only venues from October 23 to 26, replacing pork with lamb and beef options.

Mike Lanner is transforming his sausage stands at Pfeilgasse 1 and Spittelau into completely halal venues from October 23 to October 26. Following a two-month vegan trial, these locations will replace all pork products with lamb and beef variants.

The menu features lamb and beef cheese kranskys, lamb bosna, and Wagyu bratwurst hot dogs. On Saturday, the Pfeilgasse site will serve organic charcoal-grilled lamb. Chef Moiz Rehan and Lanner will also offer a specialty hot dog with Toum and Mutabbal sauce.

This initiative celebrates the World Heritage status of Viennese sausage stands through cultural exchange. The event includes DJ sets with SWANA musical influences at Spittelau on Friday and a community board game event at Pfeilgasse on Saturday.
