is intensifying enforcement of a 50 Euro penalty for public transport rule violations as part of its 'Host no immer kan Genierer?!' campaign. Security staff and control bodies are authorized to issue fines for noise, music, and eating on trains.

City Councilor Ulli Sima and Wiener Linien head Alexandra Reinagl noted that complaints fell from 12,000 in March 2026 to 8,283 in October. Violations involving unmuzzled dogs, noise, and eating decreased by one third during this period across the network.

Starting Friday, November 6, 2026, new posters and interactive quizzes will appear citywide. While 300 service and security employees monitor the system, only authorized security and control personnel can issue the existing 50 Euro fine to rule breakers.
