Weather Front to Bring Rain and Cooler Temps

A Scandinavian low-pressure system will move across Austria this Sunday, bringing rain showers and cooler temperatures by early next week.

On Sunday, September 20, 2026, temperatures in the southern Vienna Basin will reach 28 degrees Celsius, while Lower Austria sees highs between 20 and 27 degrees. West winds will freshen in the Danube region as cloud cover increases from the north by afternoon.

A Scandinavian low-pressure system will move a weather front across Austria from the northwest Sunday night. Rain showers will begin in the Mühlviertel and Waldviertel, spreading along the Northern Alps. Strong northwesterly winds are expected in the east.

Monday brings cooler highs of 14 to 24 degrees with regional rain. Unsettled weather continues Tuesday with morning showers in Upper Styria and the Mostviertel. By Wednesday, conditions stabilize with morning fog and maximum temperatures reaching 23 degrees.
