# Women on Austrian Executive Boards Hit Record 15%

The proportion of women on executive boards of Austrian companies listed in the [WBI](<https://austriareport.com/entity/wiener-borse-q698535>) reached a record 15.3 percent as of September 1, 2026. According to [EY](<https://austriareport.com/entity/ernst-young-q489097>)'s Mixed Leadership barometer, 29 of 190 board members are women, with **Emma Delaney** now leading [OMV AG](<https://austriareport.com/entity/omv-q168238>).

While 25 of 55 companies have at least one woman on their executive board, 30 remain exclusively male. The supervisory board female share stands at 33.1 percent, with 28 firms already meeting the new 40 percent gender target mandated by the **GesLeiPoG** law.

The GesLeiPoG, effective June 2026, requires 40 percent gender representation for supervisory boards but lacks executive mandates. The energy sector leads executive diversity at 25 percent, while automotive and telecom sectors currently have no women leaders.
