Helga Krismer, the Greens' club chairwoman in the Lower Austrian state parliament, held a press conference to criticize the 'Health Plan 2040+.' She called for the resignation of SPÖ state party chairman Sven Hergovich from the regional state government.
Krismer highlighted content weaknesses, noting the plan closes functional emergency doctor bases and places a new Weinviertel hospital in a flood zone. She also cited a ten-year delay for the Wiener Neustadt hospital despite SPÖ approval of the current plan.
The demand for Hergovich's resignation was rejected by SPÖ club chairman Rene Zonschits, who dismissed outside interference in party personnel. The health strategy remains a point of contention between the Greens and the ruling ÖVP-FPÖ state coalition.
