Hard Rock Café Innsbruck to Close Due to Insolvency

The Hard Rock Café in Innsbruck is shutting down and cutting 31 jobs after the city declined to renew its outdoor dining area contract.

The Hard Rock Café in Innsbruck, located on Maria-Theresien-Straße, is officially insolvent and will close its doors. Insolvency administrator Herbert Matzunski announced the closure, which results in the immediate loss of jobs for 31 local employees.

The City of Innsbruck decided not to extend the contract for the cafe's outdoor dining area, which features 100 seats. This space will be unavailable starting October 31, 2025, leading to a projected revenue decline of more than 25 percent for the site.

Klaus Schaller, head of KSV1870 in Tyrol, noted the ongoing financial oversight as the administrator has reviewed daily sales since October 1, 2024. The loss of the city-rented outdoor area ultimately made the business model unsustainable for the future.
