A Tyrolean ÖVP politician has issued an apology after a viral Oktoberfest video showed him making exclusionary comments to a non-German.

A Tyrolean ÖVP politician and entrepreneur is facing backlash after a video from the Munich Oktoberfest went viral on social media. In the footage, the politician told his conversation partner that he was not at home there, stating Germans belong at the event.

Following the incident, the politician issued a formal apology, admitting he had drunk too much and made unacceptable remarks that do not reflect his values. He specifically apologized to the international employees who work on agricultural farms in the region.

The Tyrolean Vegetable Farmers association has released a statement distancing itself from the racist remarks. The group emphasized that the politician's comments directly contradict their core values, especially as he is a farmer employing workers from abroad.
