Vienna has launched a unified ticket system for municipal and subsidized housing, replacing the previous dual registration process. City Councilor Elke Hanel-Torsch and Neos partner Selma Arapovic announced that 13,500 tickets have already been issued.
The new online-only registration requires a two-year residency in Vienna. A bonus point system prioritizes specific needs, such as victims of domestic violence or those with high care levels, though some apartments remain accessible to those with zero points.
With 14,000 apartments allocated annually, the system aims to streamline access for 500,000 eligible households. Project leaders Maximilian Havelka and Georg Retschitzegger noted that physical assistance remains available at the Guglgasse office in the 3rd district.
