Austria Forecasts Mild Start Before Cold Front

Geosphere Austria predicts mild temperatures and sun early this week before a significant cooling trend and snow arrive by Friday.

Geosphere Austria released a forecast on Sunday, October 4, 2026, predicting mild weather to start the week. While eastern Austria remains sunny on Monday, a Swiss low-pressure system brings rain to the west and south, with highs between 17 and 23 degrees.

Conditions will improve Tuesday and Wednesday, featuring widespread sunshine after morning fog clears. Temperatures are expected to peak between 20 and 25 degrees Celsius. However, dense clouds and heavy rain will move in from the west and south by Thursday.

A significant cooling trend arrives Friday, October 9, as temperatures drop to between 10 and 17 degrees. Widespread rain will persist, particularly on the northern side of the Alps, while the snow line falls to between 1,100 and 1,500 meters elevation.
