Austrian Household Wealth Hits 968 Billion Euros

The Allianz Global Wealth Report shows Austrian financial assets grew five percent in 2025 as investors shifted focus toward securities.

The Allianz Global Wealth Report, published September 29, 2026, reveals that Austrian household financial assets grew by five percent in 2025, reaching 968.6 billion euros. This increase represents a 1.4 percent growth when adjusted for inflation rates.

Investors shifted strategies as more than half of new Austrian investments flowed into securities, driving bank deposits to a historic low. Globally, financial assets rose 8.6 percent to a record 268.4 trillion euros, with most growth coming from value gains.

While Austria's 1.7 percent purchasing power increase since 2019 exceeds Western Europe's 0.5 percent, it trails the 23 percent global average. Analysts now expect a nine percent worldwide increase in financial assets for 2026 across nearly 60 countries.
