Identitarians to Rally at Vienna's Kahlenberg

Police prepare for potential clashes as right-wing extremists and counter-protesters plan demonstrations this Saturday in Vienna.

Right-wing extremist Identitarians are scheduled to gather this Saturday in for a demonstration titled 'Helden von Wien! Gedenkveranstaltung zur zweiten Wiener Türkenbelagerung 1682.' The event is registered to take place at the location.

Organizers expect 200 participants at Kahlenberg, while two counter-demonstrations are also planned. One is a stationary rally at Leopoldsberg, and another involving 300 people is set for Heiligenstadt. Police will be present to prevent group clashes.

This follows a summer Identitarian event in Vienna's city center that police prohibited because a counter-demonstration was already registered for that route. Authorities are monitoring the situation closely to ensure public safety during these gatherings.
