Juliane Bogner-Strauss Resigns as OVP Women Chair

Former minister Juliane Bogner-Strauss steps down as OVP Women leader to focus on scientific research while keeping her council mandate.

Former minister Juliane Bogner-Strauss has resigned as Federal Chairwoman of the OVP Women after eight years in the role. The associate university professor at Graz University of Technology announced her departure to focus on her ongoing scientific research.

Deputy Federal Chairwoman Margreth Falkner has been entrusted with the federal management agendas on an interim basis. While Bogner-Strauss steps down from leadership, she will retain her mandate in the National Council. A permanent successor is not yet named.

The move marks a transition for the former provincial councillor who led the organization for nearly a decade. By returning to academia while staying in the National Council, Bogner-Strauss balances her political responsibilities with her scientific career.
