Truck Overturns in Collision With Vienna Bus

A truck driver was airlifted and seven others were treated after a collision with a Wiener Linien bus in Leopoldstadt on Tuesday.

A collision between a Wiener Linien bus and a truck occurred Tuesday afternoon in Vienna's Leopoldstadt district. The accident happened shortly before 15:30 on Seitenhafenstraße, just past the Seitenhafenbrücke, causing the truck to tip over onto its side.

The truck driver, 45, was airlifted to a hospital with shoulder and leg injuries. Seven others received medical care, with five transported to hospitals for minor injuries and two released. The bus sustained significant damage to its doors and windows.

Emergency response included eight rescue teams and a helicopter. The incident disrupted public transit, causing irregular intervals for bus lines 79A and 79B in both directions as crews worked to clear the wreckage from the busy Seitenhafenstraße area.
