Opposition activists from the 'Vote Abroad' initiative conducted exit polls outside the Russian Embassy on Reisnerstraße in Vienna this Sunday. Of 1,119 people contacted, 75 percent responded, with 497 favoring New People and 184 for the Communist Party.
Only 22 respondents supported United Russia, led by Sergey Lavrov. Activists counted 1,160 voters leaving the embassy, though official results remained pending Monday morning. Security included 30 police officers, some with rifles, and explosives detection dogs.
The embassy requested these security measures from the Austrian Foreign Ministry in early September. While no demonstrations occurred, a section of Reisnerstraße was closed until 9:00 PM. In 2024, Vladislav Davankov of New People previously won in Vienna.
